I was thinking that since it is difficult to know when your running shoes need to be replaced, it would be great to have some type of indicator on the shoe to let you know. Think blue lines on toothbrush idea meets running shoes….

Anyone else picking up on the recurring theme that I want to be notified when I need to do something; sponges, shoes, medicine….

This is a concept that Je’re Taffet and I came up with a few years ago and we have a PATENT PENDING (oh yeah).

The first iteration will be a heated yoga mat.

Stay tuned!

Medicine bottle labels that change color

Problem:  You go to your medicine cabinet and realize that the medication you were about to take has expired.

I would like to see labels degenerate and give visual indicators as to when the medicine will expire.  For example; if the medicine expires in 30 days the label turns red, notifying you that you will need to replace it soon.  When it is expired, the label would turn black rendering it impossible to read the instructions and you would be required to replace it (drug companies will be lovin me…).

So now you would just take a quick glance at your medicine bottles  and you know “their status”.

Sponge that indicates the level of bacteria

The basic idea here is that sponges retain A LOT of bacteria, but we don’t know how much and at what level it becomes dangerous to us.

My concept would have the sponge change colors or some other type reaction that indicates the level of bacteria in it and lets you know it needs to be cleaned.
